Ordering Flower Seeds

I am not one to rush winter, so I am not pining for spring or summer at all, but ordering seeds in winter and dreaming of a bounty of blooms, does have its place. And I'm happy to say that I placed my seed order this morning. Anyone else doing the same?

Today my harvest basket is surrounded by snow and is filled with wishes in books. Soon enough, it will be filled with the real thing.

What flowers do you dream about growing this year?
If you need inspiration, any one of the books in my basket is a great choice.

I've been pouring over Tasha Tudor's Garden since 1995 and I still love it. Cut Flower Garden by Erin Benzakein of Floret Farm is newer to my collection. It's filled with stunning photographs and useful info on growing, harvesting, and arranging flowers. Her Instagram page is beautiful, so I highly recommend following her.

Have you heard of the Slow Flower movement? The idea is the same as the "grow local" sustainable farming movement only with fresh cut flowers. The 50 Mile Bouquet is a great read featuring small flower farmers.

If you're like me and dabble in dyeing fibers with plant material, you will likely drool over Sasha Duerr's book Natural Color. It's an awesome book.
